Anyone found a good interesting to drive but still comfortable practical daily?

Interesting. How about ride quality and comfort? Do you think it is possible the ride comfort on my E43 might improve on the summer tyres when temps are consistently higher?

Yes - The summer rubber goes rock hard, and you really notice it going over white lines (no, not cocaine!) esp with RWD and lots of torque from the EV side of the Volvo

Exactly my symptoms. I have a new pair of 19" winters in the garage I just took off the new 19" alloys and tempted to bite the bullet and get a matching pair of rear winters to see. Not sure the temps are going to get much better to see if these summers are OK in warmer temps for a while.

markedly! Afew years ago I fitted Pirelli Sottozeros to my wife's BMW 130i and the ride was greatly improved. I used the original rims but many have separate winter rims and tyres for ease of change and most reduce one or two inches so there is more sidewall too. That could save you a small fortune on car changing and give you much more grip sub 7C.
And those were Pirellis!

(sorry.)

We had Mach E for a few hours yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised about how good and comfortable the ride was. Wasn't expecting that.

We know someone who has one and loves it...though I think there has been an issue or two...
I know what one issue might be.

“I’ve got a new car!”

“Great, what is it?”

“A Mustang”

“Cool! Is it the 5.0 one? A Shelby maybe?”

“No, it’s an electric SUV”

“Oh……”

Not quite I don't think. A used I-Pace seems currently the likely candidate.

The Mach E drive really well but feels like it might start to fall apart a bit over time. The 6 month 6k mike loaner had condensation on all headlights and taillights, the massive portrait touchscreen looks silly and then you get a very small LCD panel instrument binacle you can't see all of unless you sit on the floor or have your steering wheel in London Bus position. Boot is not very big either.

Rode really well and if you care less about cars completely and need a decent family daily it should be locked at. Oddly it is. It a small car but not huge but drives and feels bigger than it is. Some cars like my old XJL are big cars that feel and drive like smaller/lighter cars. This was the reverse which I've not experienced much.

How does the iPace fare for reviews and reliability? I've heard not good. @Ewan, I think, has a friend who endured one for a while.

Indeed, at work we bought an E-Tron and an iPace at the same time, for approximately the same money. But if a test to see which we preferred.
The E-Tron has been faultless and impressive.
The iPace had to be swapped three times in the first three months, but the third one has worked well. Quicker than the Audi, but the ride is dreadful.
When the iPace comes up for renewal later this year, it won’t be for another iPace!

I think the key for me is to buy one 2-4 years old after the typical new car niggles have been ironed out and software bugs also updated out.

The I-Pace fits the bill, drives well and will have a manufacturer warranty anyway. It is also. One of the few EV's that has a more conventional dash/controls setup rather than most that tend to feel they need stick a great tablet with chuffing touch screen everything control.

I'll be selling my E43 Estate soon as not gelling with it and replacing it with something much older I expect. Not getting on with all these stupid modern cars!
