P - my sons fairly typical, computers, cars, tanks/army - my daughter is easy going, quite arty and musical, will probably enjoy the Eiffel tower.

I hear there are A LOT of rubbish places to eat and that you need to explore the back streets to find the gems... they did try snails a few years back so are adventurous but steak frites would be a better choice!

I'm thinking Thursday night explore and then go somewhere nice for dinner.. then maybe somewhere else; not sure if they have evening entertainment for kids? Then Friday morning the tower, stop at a patisserie for cakes and coffee, onto a museum or something similar, then a nice lunch followed by a stroll - I take it you know Paris pretty well? sound like a plan?

Any recommendations for any of the above appreciated :)

Ok.....GH...will draw up an itinernary.......hope it suits.........and you enjoy/approve.....

Thursday....time in town.......what about the Greek quarter....get a kebab/sit down variation of same.......I think a bit more authentic than back home.....!!!.......or more formal.....lovely square....traditional French food....reasonable price....they could always go to a movie if streaming down......if pleasant....meander over to Notre Dame, see it at night, or take a river boat tour in the dark, all flood lit etc.......?

Friday.....up at break of dawn....7 am to get over to ET......then take metro straight to parc de la Villette, or Catacombs.....?...get lunch in either area...can't really go wrong.....if a place is crowded.....just wait and take a seat, if you spot tourists eating, walk the other way!!! Or can recommend a lovely little cafe for a 3 course lunch on Isle St louis...3 course for 10E?

Time your leaving in the pm....maybe squeeze in the fab patisserie then?

When I am over, we walk for hours......an utterly divine city!

P

PS Then again, I'm biased....:)...:)

P - good work, think I owe you a beer!

Some great ideas, greek food, followed by Notre Dame / river boat sounds great, will have to look into the details/locations.. are there many boat tours to choose from?

ET open from about 7 then? Isle St Louis looks lovely.. which cafe - would we need to book?

PS - can't teach me the French language in three weeks can you!? ha!

Miracles I can do.....with a bit of notice.......................the impossible takes just a day or two longer....aka....learning French....;)...;)

When are you going? Can give you locations etc nearer the time.......neither place does reservations............!!

Not sure time the tower opens, but be in the queue anyways!

I didn't know...................you too had a wooden hand...right or left?...;)...;)

No real need......but they are very formal.............and you must ALWAYS address everyone.....bar none....by Bonjour Monsieur/Madame or Madmoiselle...without fail.................all the time............everytime.....making that clear......otherwise they will lump you in with all the other oik tourists and ignore you!!!!!!!!!

Secondly, merci doesn't go amiss, and au revoir quite useful too!
