Technology hey...what ever next....What you need is a push of a button and the seats sends voltage up there jacksee. Thats after the car has been stopped that is...Must think of safety as well...Or a metal spike that shoots out of the seat.....

Saw a video clip many years ago of an anti-theft device in South Africa...
anyone got to close to the perimiter of the car would set off...not an alarm, but...
flames would shoot out from various pipes underneath... very effective!

I saw that and ANTI HIJACK devices are big business in SA.But then they would kill you quick to get into your car.
Can someone tell me if the 4200 locks itself when you drive off or has any central locking safety features because this is actually getting to be more common in UK cities and at junctions near supermarkets.
Its not just the expensive cars either but any car of any value.
My seat has a panic button that locks all the doors and the SL500 locked tham all when you drove off.

Yes, you get to a certain speed (I think 10 mph, but not sure) on my QP and all the doors lock...same thing happens on my wife's mini.

There have been 2 of these cases recently in Glasgow where at the lights the offender got into the passenger seat with a knife, so you are nearly as vulnerable in a Coupe.

You can lock your doors once in by pressing the fulcrum button just beside the door handle. I do it most of the time to be honest.

There was a (n apocraphyl?) case in Dublin a few years ago where the scum crossed a pedestrian crossing and then while the car was stopped through a rat in through the open sunroof. The lady owner then legged it, leaving the car and keys.

Yeah i saw that one Enzo absolutely brilliant , think if i had that i would be chasing them in the car and trying to burn their asses as they ran away ,worth a new set of surf boards to me just to see them suffer a bit , Old style south Africa hadn't heard of health and safety, wonder if its changed now , most black east /west african states ive worked in treat their own criminals worse than what any white governement ever did
