Annoying Central Locking fault

I've got an annoying problem with my central locking that I can't trace. The fuse keeps blowing for no obvious reason. A new fuse gets it working for a while and then it blows again after a few weeks. Has anybody come across this before or seen a solution?
There's no obvious situation when it happens, ie. it can happen in any combination of hot/cold, dry/wet weather or car?

An auto sparky friend has had a quick look but because it only happens intermittently couln't find anything obvious

Do the 3200's suffer from the blocked aircon drain problem of the 4200? If so check the carpets for wet and the electrical bay in the passenger footwell for ingress... Just a suggestion but may be a million miles off.

Might be worth setting the multimeter on amps and measuring the current across the blown blade fuse contacts (on the top) next time this happens. You'll need someone to activate the remote as it will be a 2 handed job.

I had a similar problem on my 99 and it was actually caused by the cigarette lighter. I believe that on the early models the lighter was common with the cenlocking motor.
