I have the opposite problem, it is not bright enough in the daytime.
I have noticed that the angle appears to be set for taller people.
When I move closer and higher it is brighter.
I've thought of taking the instrument cluster apart and changing the angle of the gear display down somehow.
I'm 5'5" so not ever going to hit my head on the ceiling.
Of course for nighttime all the lights are adjustable by turning the instrument knob.
