All show and no go! BMW 318i Coupe

My daily driver a BMW 320d touring is in the main dealer for clutch judder, again, it was fitted with a new modified fluid flywheel and clutch back in March but the judder has returned.

Anyway they has given me a 318i Coupe to run around in.
It's dangerous, really it is.
It looks the business, coupe, massive 19 inch wheels, MSport body kit, leather, HID's, pro sat nav etc.
But with only 140 BHP and no torque, it's incapable of passing almost anything!
On my normal route to work came up behind a Toyota compact thingie, in my full fat 320d with over 180 BHP and loads of torque it would have been a formality to safely overtake...in the 318i it never happened! Of course in the Maser different ball game again!

They really, really, should not be allowed to put such a puny engine in such a big car!

The 318 is the most succesful model for bmw!!

Wannabe bm drivers buy it as its affordable, i had a 318is when i was 19!!

Very slow......

Should try a stripped out and blueprinted iS, almost on a par with a stripped 325 but beats it hands down in the corners

Yes and no.....i dont blame the car for letting me down....

Had it for 7 years and alwaysaintained it well, apart from the last 2 years....
I started to get bored of it and eyed up alfas, this just running it into the ground, no servicing no replacing things as a car needs and then it let me down.....more my fault.....

Great cars, bmws really are reliable, 2nd only to japanese cars....this 118d i have now is good, cars done 70k, me doing 9k in a year and has not played up, loads of cold start ups, loads if not all city driving, it starts it goes and does not cough every now and again like when i used my sisters A2 the other day, it did not want to be started at 8am....very loud aswel
