Alfa GTA Sportwagen

I appreciate this is not strictly Maserati but most of us have daily drivers and I have noticed a fondness for Alfas amongst some of the members so thought I would share. A friend of mine who has been in the car supplying business for many years, historically focussed on classics such as E Types, TRs, MGs etc but a year ago he started bringing in cars from Japan. I have seen quite a few and they are in incredible condition, especially underneath with no discernible corrosion. More than 30 cars later, it looks like a good idea! Anyway, he told me this weekend that he has just bought one of these with 46k miles on and classed as 4B by the auction house. It has the history but obviously Japanese. I thought this might appeal here so attached photos from Japan. PM me if you would like an intro. Personally I fancied a mid '90s SL500 at 8.5k but like most of the cars it was sold before it was unloaded in Southampton docks. Annoyingly, all the really interesting stuff (Maseratis, Ferraris, Porsches, M/AMG/RS etc) are LHD despite the locals driving on the left like us!

Nice GTA Sportwagen, although not sure about the black roof. They have a big following so if the price is right it will sell easily

My 08 Range Rover Vogue is ex Japan and mint condition.
My Mini Cooper I just sold was the same too.

I had 2 x GTAs, both saloons though. The second one was 10 years old and did 160k miles (and on the original clutch would you believe!). Was a fantastic car, loved it. The Ghibli I have now replaced it. I still miss the sound of the engine

I understood most cars if not all from Japan never got undersealed like the cars do in the UK. First thing would be to make sure it gets undersealed or have some form of under-body protection applied.

My first 156 was undersealed for the first foot or so on each side, with the middle being completely left alone!

I think it must be a fashion there as I saw the same on a white 550i brought in. I am sure it will sell quickly at 10.5k but thought I would share in case it appealed amongst this group.

Love GTA's but don't like the Wagens with the rear tints as it makes it look like a van.

Not a massive fan of the black alloys either. Each to their own and all that.

Both of which can be addressed, always wanted a GTA SW but at present doesn't fit with the current plans

That's lovely, (minus black wheels & tints).

Just encase anyone likes useless facts.... They drive LHD as its seen as more prestigious in Japanese culture.

Any original Japanese car will very likely need a rear fog light added before UK MOT time.
