What about the 1.3 Diesel version? Not sure on the reliability though........or a Chrysler/Lancia Ypsilion?

Has to be Petrol as he just will not do the miles to have a diesel and I think as time goes in the government will tax us more heavily in diesel.

From 2006 they had the Prince engines with the 1.4 naturally aspirated and the 1.6 turbo charged built by PSA and these are far more problematic that the original 1.6 motor that was used.

You need to find a one owner early model like Peter has with a full detailed history and potentially a collectors car too.

The 1.6 is too much to insure which is why the 1.4 was appealing. Will have to do some digging first in what to check then.

I have been running 1.4 multi air turbo 170bhp for years as a runaround when I dont want to get the GT (or now the F type) out of the garage. Has been totally reliable and is tremendous fun to drive. Great first car in the smaller engine versions, parts are very cheap on e bay if you need any.
