I don't think that's the case. If you really want something it's the desirability.I think it's the minority who worry about parts prices, servicing, and all the background things. It's more wanting what they aspired to back in the day and having the means to get it.

The reason people pay money for Escorts is beyond me,.
Why they shy away from a 3200 is parts availability and Maserati tax ( prices thereof)

edit- I recently suggested a friend who wants a cabrio for w/e drives with his missus look at a GranCabrio...He laughed and cited build quality. He wouldnt trust one further than Boris Johnson...!

We are a contradictory lot... try and sell a 20 year old Maser with >50k on the clocks and its classed as worn out... try and sell one with sub 15k and its likely a money pit!
