Pens are no different to watches in this regard. Omas is a very good maker and limited runs have resale values that will hold up like good watches, but not branded commissions (check out Audemars Piguet Maserati watch), they're a no-no. Very over-priced at the outset (set by whoever commissioned the watch to fit with their perceived value rather than the open market) and then under-appreciated afterwards with a vastly reduced audience.
