Hi, does anyone know if it's possible to remove the a/c clutch with the compressor still in the car? Can't tell if there's a circlip on it. Thanks!
I could be wrong but i didnt think you could get a clutch service pack for these A/C compressors.Hi, does anyone know if it's possible to remove the a/c clutch with the compressor still in the car? Can't tell if there's a circlip on it. Thanks!
They used a couple of different compressors on the 4200. Mine has a 9mm hex cap screw, but I think the other has a circlip. They can be replaced without removing the compressor, but it's very difficult to hold the clutch while removing the screw without a special tool for the type I have. Likewise, the circlip is probably not easy, but one of the members on the ML forum did succeed.Hi, does anyone know if it's possible to remove the a/c clutch with the compressor still in the car? Im going to pull the car back into the garage and check it out again, its very cramped in there. Its blistering hot outside in Florida right now. Removing the entire compressor is quite the job having to remove the manifolds and lifting the engine. Im really trying to avoid it if possible but like anything else on these cars Im probably in for some work. ill update this thread with the progress. They used a couple of different compressors on the 4200.
