just answered my own question!!...thanks wikipedia!!

Special editions
2005 Coupe CC with Vintage packageThe Maserati Coupé and Spyder special editions are primarily exterior trim packages that were only offered for certain model years or on a limited number of vehicles. They include:

2005 Spyder 90th Anniversary[32][47]
2006 Gransport LE[48]
2006 Gransport MC Victory[49][50]
Also, in 2004, a Vintage trim package was introduced. It includes chrome air-exhaust vents in the front fenders, a new polished wheel design, silver-finished brake calipers, and chrome door handles.[13]

A 2004 Coupé 90th Anniversary edition was announced,[51][52] but apparently never produced.

The MC Victory edition features carbon fiber body panels and interior trim, and was unveiled at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show to celebrate the racing success of the Maserati MC12.[50][53]

Don't they run a similar line on maseratistore....just a term they've high-jacked for sales purposes.

Yep, saw one once at my local Co-Op a few years back, it was brooklands green and had vents in the front wings with grilles from memory. It was basically the last of the facelift 4200's before they started GS production, mechanically the same I think.

Thought they still made the 4200 when the GS was in production? I know that you would only order a 4200 in this scenario if you wanted a manual gearbox but you could still order a 4200 into 2006 IIRC and GS production started in late 2004.

You could well be right, I am only going on what the owner of the car told me, I think he was a bit miffed that they sold it to him with the GS due. It was 2 years old and the dealer had offered him £27k back for it....they should wear masks!

Vintage was just a bit of chrome bling....you could have as little or as much as you wanted when ordering a 4200......it was just an option on the price list...I have the brochure some where.
