4200 oil change.

I empty the sump using a Mityvac pump, then remove the drain plugs. I'll check that screen next time.
 
Hard to make much of that despite the image…Spherical, or flat like a disc..?
No matter. It’s the screen side of the pump….!

On a more serious note, you might cut your filter cartridge open and investigate further…?
 
It’s flat and smooth. I’m not overly concerned by it. I was just comparing to the earlier post I quoted. Unfortunately the picture from the earlier post isn’t showing in mine.

Interesting, it's the exact same piece as what i found in my GS.
I assumed from an oil bottle at the time, as @TimR says the filter screen has done it's job.
I have routinely opened oil filters to inspect for wear materials and they have always been spotless
