4200 Coupe subframe referb

Hi Guys. With some free time on my hands recently I decided to tackle a few jobs on my 2004 Coupe. In the last few weeks I've replaced the dreaded heater matrix, replaced the cam cover gaskets, stripped and repainted the intake fanymold and removed the front subframe for a referb. All using the excellent How To guides on this forum along with those by Craig- Waterman. It certainly made the jobs less daunting with the wealth of information this forum provides.
I am now in the process of refitting the subframe and wonder if someone could oblige with an electronic copy of the workshop manual? Or if a member has recently done this job provide me with the torque specs for the various components ?

looks great, nice job
Thanks. Having seen who they can deteriorate I wanted to take it down for closer inspection. Caught mine in time and stripped back to bare metal. Interestly, my frame looked to be in factory original paint where it wasn't surface rusted and had a number of small holes for injecting rust inhibitor. Looked like Maserati had put them there so frame internally treated as well.

If you call renewing the heater matrix and removing the front subframe a small job, what do consider a large one?
Well done I admire your tenacity, are you an home mechanic or do you do it for a living?

No I don't do it for a living. With my OCD I'd never make any money the time it takes me! Have been an active home mechanic for longer than I care to admit with a few nut and bolt restos under my belt. The wife wanted me to move away from 70s classics and buy myself something newer I wasn't working on all the time. Hasn't quite gone to plan...

Never said they were small jobs. I was getting misting on the inside windscreen and could see some visible surface rust on parts of the subframe so wanted to address these and hopefully avoid a bigger issue in the future.

I am impressed and hope to do some small jobs on mine as and when. I don't think the heater has been done. Do they all fail?

Quite a few have and as the car is getting older the chance of it needing replacement will be quite high to be truthful.

Great job, what coating would you recommend to protect the outside of the subframes?

If doing smaller areas/components, I tend to use a corrosion primer inhibitor such as Corroless S1 on most things with a top coat of Dacthane coach enamel which I believe is used on motorbike frames a lot. My subframe was actually soda blasted, inhibitor primed and powder coated as had the whole frame done.
