The dials background is blue instead of silver, also the facelift has a cupholder in centre console near electric mirror control which I'm sure the old one did not.

Identical apart from that inside.

As others have said GS styling front and rear ends with 7 spoke alloys and thats all the visual stuff thats different.

The satnav, head unit is different from a GS as well as the seats, the dashboard and as mentioned, the dials. The transmission tunnel compartments are different too. The GS steering wheel is carbon fibre and not circular and the handbrake is different too. There are other slight differences which I can't remember.

As far as I'm aware the question from the OP was about the differences between pre and post facelift 4200 not facelift 4200 v GS so that's what my posts refer to! :D:D

Might have read it wrong though!

That's all as I've found too Dave from looking at the both. Only subtle really. I'm going for a facelift, but have to say, I like the wheels of the pre-facelift, they 'appear' to fill the arches better, though the same size.

Here's some info I gleaned off the web:

2005 ‘Facelift’ Model Differences

The main change is to the front & rear bumpers, the front is fitted with a horizontally ribbed radiator grille inspired by that of the Quattroporte. It is one that reflects the 'family' feel of the range. The rear bumper is also new. It is sportier and features wide air intakes shielded by a black, tight mesh grille. The link with the Quattroporte is reinforced in the Coupé with the placing of the classic oval and arrow Trident badge on the rear side panels, as styled by Frua in 1963.

With the Year 2005 model, the interior can be contrasted with different coloured leathers for the central zone of the seats, dashboard and upper door panels.

The reverse gear lever now has a D (for Drive) option for selecting first gear.

The CC gearbox on the 2005 4200 facelift model has an identical software setup, called ‘sofast 1+’ to the Gransport,

The 2005 4200 facelift also has the same gear selection lever as the Gransport, allowing forward and reverse on this lever instead of paddle for forward, and incline brake assist.

The 2005 4200 facelift suspension software, setup and geometry is also identical to the Gransport

Hope all this helps John. and happy hunting
