Hey guys,

This is my 4.2 GT with the new GTS 4.7 Exhaust- Valves always open.

I ended getting the black quad tips??? I thought its meant to be Oval? Is there a difference between these tips and the Oval tip version?

Anyway the video doesn't do it justice. Sounds much better in reality.

SOunds great...You have twin pipes so thatS THE 4.7 Auto exhaust....Does anyone know if the MC Shift fit the 4.2 as well and is the sound any different to the 4.7 Auto twin pipe.

Andy, I believe the oval GTS pipes to be louder that the auto's.

When I bought my GTS it was largely for the noise! I drove to the dealer in my 4.2, drove a 4.7 auto and commented on how it sounded much better tban the 4.2. The salesman said "If you like the sound of that one, you'll love the sound of this..." and started up a GTS.
I said "sold" and the deal was done.

Not sure how many sections the pipe comes in.

Not the best vid to post as a comparison as I'm sat in the car in the garage, but you can hear that you get more of a crackle from a GTS exhaust.
That's not to say that T10YY's sounds bad in any way.

May as well post this one too as there's plenty of crackle on the down shifts

I was told by Larini when they did my QP that the size and shape of the tips had no bearing at all on the sound.

As far as im aware the GTS Auto and GTS Mc Shift have the same exhaust besides the tips.

However in Sports Mode the MC Shift valves are always open, whereas in the Auto they only open at 3k RPM.

yes I agree Noor, the video of mine is with an iphone and is not clearly recognising the crackles. There is a lot of crackling and popping when down shifting. I will try and capture this in another video. But I have heard that the MC shift will give a slightly different effect due to the gearbox speed. You can achieve a better sound by having the sports mode on as this improves the speed of the gear change on the AUTO.

The only thing that bothers me with having my valves open all the time is the drone inside the cabn at 2K RPM in second gear. I feel I have to change gears to get rid of it. Of course it doesn't bother me when I'm thrashing it!! :)

I am going to buy the valve kit Noor. Will give you a call soon!

Sports Mode, should help, certainly on mine in Sports Mode, where the shift speed is quicker there are more crackles and pops. I Need to fit the DBW to see if the further improvements in shift speed create even more crackles and pops!!

The other thing to note is even a 4.2 with GTS back boxes will not sound exactly like a 4.7 GTS. Its close but different at the same time. The sound generated is sum of the engine and all the exhaust components.

Feel free to call anytime Firas.

Thanks

Noor
