3rd party transactions

Have you ever made a purchase via the net, that included a 3rd party?

For example, i'm selling a car, and there is one person from (let's say) the USA who is interested in my car.

he cannot come to Greece, so a 3rd party company arranges the transaction, the transport and has the responsibility that money and car reach their destination.

Have you heard that?

In a seach of a new car for me, it is offered this via this office (http://www.eco-trust.com/), but i am suspicious. Of course i'd like to take the plane and see the car in the flesh, and give the amount hand by hand.

Any common experience?

Escrow agents like this are not uncommon, but then again neither are the scams out to take your hard earned money. They look like a genuine agency but I would proceed cautiously and not transfer only until you a absolutely certain that the car you have in mind is the real thing. I have use a solicitor in the past for a couple of high dollar transactions but they were only from one side of Australia to the other and not international.

Cheers Neil...and how can you be sure that the car is real, unless you see it? Documents can be fake...
