Does anyone happen to know how the bidding of the red 61 3500 vignale spyder fared up in sydney just over a week ago?

Normally when a car fetches an eyewatering or record price, there is no end of fanfare, so it's curious that the news on this one went cold. I'm wondering if the final bid was somewhat lacklustre?

As a six cylinder, I think these should fetch the same as an equivalent Aston Martin convertible. Weirdly, they usually go for quite a bit less, but there are more Aston fans about.

Aesthetically, they’re up there with the equivalent Ferraris, but with six more cylinders and even more fans than the Astons, they’ll always be way more expensive.
