Might be a good base to start a restoration, but need loads of money thrown at it!
+ it will never have the original engine...not one that I would pay 35k for,
Regards,
Enzo.

Might be if you could source a sound engine....but lost its matching numbers status....for the serious collector a bit of a no-no......

There having a laugh at that price , heritage and credence destroyed because no original engine , and a complete restoration needed to boot , its worth around £70K if it was concours or very near , and that leaves £30K to do it , rubber seals are shot and are like hens teeth not my cuppa , needs someone with more money than sense and an undaunted passion

Agree with you Loz, not a good one especially at that price. Same goes for that Khamsin with a US V8 that was up for sale in Oz.

Also looks like it was silver looking at the door jams, which would have been a better combo with the red interior.

God forbid i get to eighty years old and still own a Maserati and let it get in that condition , anyone on here has my express wish that they remove it from my care free of charge on the promise to keep it in the style and luxury for which it was meant ,

Tho i fear my boys might beat any of you to them first , my youngest just waiting to get his hands on one of them and take his girl out , if only i could get him insured at a reasonable cost , the pleasure to see that smile on his face would be undescribable

.....Loz....phone Aplan again...............get them to give you a few days cover during the year with guarantees.......for the boy..........state the dates.......say you'll be with him for some of those days....give re-assurances.........cut a deal....put a bit of pressure on...............:)....give it a lash!

Stick a temporary huge excess on it.......£5000....etc....

Nothing ventured and all that....................

Not even a month Loz........................3/4/5 days....and as above........you take the risk......effectively...hence the huge excess suggestion..........

Smaller brokers/actuary types can calculate the risk...be more flexible......................ask them to speak to their actuary......1 2 1...press them....:)

Hi Loz,

I would suggest getting your son to think about taking his advanced driving test and then speak to some specialist insurers such as Hagerty. When I needed to insure a 19 year old on the Bora and Tiger they did it at very reasonable cost. They took into account the fact he held an International Race Licence and was an ARDS licensed race instructor when agreeing to insure him and calculating the premium.

Hope that helps

Robin
