Hello again

I am having issues with my side lights and park lights not working, there are 6 fuses involved and a relay they have been checked all OK.

The Bulb error light on the dash comes on when stalk is turned for the side lights, now looking though the schematics for side light just about all the wires end up going into the IGE unit.
Has any one had problems with this unit??
Gordon.

These stalks have traditionally given problems, that could be your issue if your fuses and relays have all checked out ok

The stalk is a possibility,i know when i was looking at why i had problems with the indicators the stalk was checked it seemed OK.
But if there's history of stalks giving issues it may be worth a change!

Update
Just picked up a new stalk in good working condition.
Still need to know about IGE issues?

The IGE itself it pretty simple (the black unit with all the fuses in it?) however there are two way spade connections under the fuses and these corrode causing intermittent problems it may be worth removing it and open it up see if any of the fuse contacts or relay bases are corroded or looking burned from sparking connections.

Hi Davy83

The IEG lives next to the fuses long black box to the left,i have had it out and open.
All the connectors look like new nothing visible in the way of shorting and doesn't smell!
there is a lot going on in there large double sided board with a ton of resisters ic's and power transistors
so i am guessing it gets warm in there.
The unit is protected well and isolated from the outside world, but if now one here has had a problem with this unit maybe im barking up the wrong tree!.
I have a different stalk coming so will try that first, may also speak to McGrath nicely and borrow an IGE unit to try.

sounds like a plan, good luck. I think the IGE is where the bulb current is sensed for the bulb out warnings, hence the PCB!

That's what it dose, but looking at all the components on the PCB (Double sided) it appears totally over the top for the job.
