3200 Trim Removal

I was wondering whether anyone has removed the black trim that runs over the top of each door & returns down the rear of the rear quarter light?
The rear quarter light has a smaller piece of the same trim that runs under the fixed glass & terminates at the back of each door.
How is it fixed, or more importantly, how is it removed without damage to the trim or bodywork?
Are replacement trims available new or second hand perhaps?
Many thanks,
Stephen

Be careful mate.

You know i snapped the carbon door trim in half. I thought it is only £44 from eurospares but it turns out the price is for standard silver trim. My optional carbon trim is £311. What a expensive lesson. I found a guy in Queensland can fix it but he said it will not be perfect so I bites the bullet and ordered the part from eurospares.

Hi J,
Sorry to hear about your piece of trim.
I have no intention of removing mine, or at least attempting to, until I know how it comes off.
If it is anything like my Monte it is a throw away after removal.
I would assume many cars in th UK have had repairs or resprays with this removed rather than just masked.

I should have tried him but chance is quite slim I believe. I have yet to see the carbon door trim on any GS except mine. Now I know why i never come across one.

How good does that look?
Our problem is with so few Maseratis here we cannot just visit Pick-a-Part and get what we need.
There must be some cars here though that have been written off.

What I meant was Stephen should ask David how it comes apart. Always worth a try for parts as well.
cheers
