3200 GTA battery / alarm question!

Morning all!
Despite having one of those trickle conditioner chargers fitted, yesterday, as the sun was shining brightly, Idecided to wheel the GTA out! The fob button unlocked the car, but the alarm siren sounded continously! The engine started fine, although the siren continued to sound!
Switching off the engine, and locking the car and system with fob, locked the car, but then the siren continued to sound for 6 seconds and then quiet for 6 seconds, for about 30 seconds, then went quiet.
Looking at the battery conditioner, it shows on the display that the battery in the car is actually flat, so have overnight set a battery recondition!
Any ideas??!! It's sunny again here today, and seems a shame to spoil the exhause growl with an annoying electric siren going off down the road!

Hard pressed to believe a flat battery started the car. Sounds like the car alarm is out of sync with the doors.

Is the red light on the dash still flashing when you unlock the car? If so try locking the doors manually with the key on both sides so that the light is flashing and the doors are now locked. Then try unlocking with the fob again. The doors should unlock and the light should go out...and hopefully the alarm shouldn't sound. This has worked for me before.

Regards,

Neil

Or just drive her faster producing more engine note!

I know this sounds Bizzarre but its fact , on a 4200 if your having unlocking /locking immobilers issues if you click the key fob on and off 16 times it resets the whole system

stupid alarm has its own built in battery. At a service once i am sure autosheild took the alarm battery out and recharged it as mine was playing up

I had a similar situation recently when starting after the winter. Had the battery on charge. Went to start the car but the red lights were flashing on the dash and radio, the indicators still flashed periodically, tried unlock which stopped the indicator flash, but left the lights flashing on the dash. So I got out, shut all doors and boot, locked and waited, then unlocked, waited, locked and unlocked, got in and the alarm sounded. Locked it then unlocked and all was fine.
The upshot of all this, is that the alarms and electronics appear to need time to get re-educated when the battery has been off, or flat. You just have to persevere and allow the car to get to grips with spring, it's been asleep for a while and needs time to wake up, we are talking about Italian high breds here.
Hope this helps, I know it's frustrating, but you get used to it.

Cheers

OK, so here's an update! The siren noise sounded like it was 'struggling' with battery, altrhough there was plenty!
Lovely sunny day again, so check this out...and I expect lots of praise for my heroism!
Donned a pair of earplugs, and decided to take 'squealer' for a roundtrip, to see if it might thaw the girl out.
The siren seemed to get lower, slower and 'sleepier'. After a few hours, and a few strange looks, the siren decided to pack in as I was driving up my drive!! Parked in the garage, and now all seems well...??? What is this lady telling me??

I think all that screaming has made her loose her voice...probably only temporarily though....

Hi,

Sorry just seen this post on the 3200, apologies

I have had a similar query, the 3200 doosn't like to be charged if still connected and as Loz stated clicking the key fob many times does work bringing the key fob and central locking back together.

I have had the battery issue with mine. Charging whilst connected is OK if you turn off the main power switch in the boot before you connect.
