3200 fuse location

Hi,anyone know of the location of the fuse for the cigette lighter,as mine has just blown,and also took out the central locking,many thanks dean

The fuse for the cigarette lighter is shown as fuse 7 - 15a Blue and is shown in the service book beneath the glove compartment inside the car. This fuse also serves the Audio system but the service book does not metion the central locking who's control unit is fed from fuse 19.

Anyway once you find the fuses you should be able to check through all of them. My servic book is for a year 2000 so if you have a later spec model it may have changed.

thanks for your help.i managed to sort it by calling graypaul,it is in the passenger footwell,accessed by pulling the carpet back,and there is a huge metal plate you have to remove,and its below that.the fuse covered the cigerette lighter. and remote central locking,but the audio worked,strange,but all sorted so thankyou

Glad you have found the fuses, I have oked at the handbook again and it must have been written for left hand drive cars and they must have moved the position for RHD models. We learn something new everday.

replaced it two days ago, and now its blown again. Anything special that would cause this? I think its the fourth time ivw changed it in the last year.

Carl, I had the same issue, turned out to be the socket part of the ciggy lighter earthing out, try (with the battery off) bending the two prongs at the bottom up a bit.

i found mine was caused by useing the auxillary plugs in the lighter socket,as they are not a snug fit,thought it was the plug on my sat nav,but replaced that and it was the same,further look and it turns out the socket is slightly shallower than a conventional cigarette lighter,not allowing the sockets to sit correctly,replace the whole cigarette lighter with a lovely chrome bently one,and no further problems,
