3200 figures

Afternoon Gents,

As some of you will know, I have been on the search for a 3200 for quite some time. There are one or two cars currently for sale that I am keen on but they are far from perfect. I am looking for something unique and as such require some information from the vast array of knowledgeable bunch on here.

My questions to you are:
(1) How many 3200s were built for the UK market (RHD)?
(2) How many cars were registered in the UK for each of the production years? For instance, with my Porsche I know that only 16 were made in 2004 (Mk2), and for Mk1 cars; 31 in 2003, 66 in 2002 and 16 in 2001.
(3) What colours were available at launch?
(4) How many 3200s in the UK are coloured Grey, Blue, Yellow etc. ?

This is the car I was going to buy, we even agreed the figure but before I could put down a deposit and book the car in for an inspection, it was sold. It is now proving extremely difficult to find one finished in such a colour.

Thanks in advance,

Ram

They sold them for 4 years in the UK and a report I have says 870 in total. There were 184 sold in 1999 and a 352 in 2000 which was the peak sales year. Not sure about 2001 or 2002, but obviously fewer!

In context, 870 is extremely low. This is also borne out by the very low number for sale at any one time!

The link above gives a general guide to numbers remaining, though does rely on DVLA's accuracy and categorisation which is renowned for being poor!

No idea re numbers in different colours!

Didn't think that one would stay around for long as it was a rare colour...Not seen another in that colour blue...

I got the build sheet for that car - it was a special order Blue and from what I knew at the time, the drivers side rear wing had been painted. Since it was a special order colour, the match was not perfect but my intention was to have my bodyshop look at it.

Wow, a huge thanks to you Rex; a great help.
I am now most likely to spend some time searching the various shades of blue and red on google to see which I prefer.

Nige, I was thinking that as well....I have the original brochure and it just lists the colours above....Now It could be Red Villoresi as not seen or heard of that colour red before......Red Bologna is the dark red I believe...

Sorry must learn to count, the missing colour is Red Indianapolis. I think Rosso Mondiale may have come with the first AC, or 2001 cars but not sure.

There is a thread on here giving all the colours made, the number in that colour, the number of cars in auto & manual, I will see if I can find it again?

Arnie,

One of my step daughters has a Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo Limited Edition in Black. She has had it chipped and loads of other stuff done to it and it fly's. Quite nice motor and is her pride and joy, immaculate.
