3200 Assetto Corsa Wheels

Hi Danny,
I don't want to upset your position on this, but my AC centre caps are original and the Trident is Chrome! The centre caps you have there could be off the 4200. I have just spoken with Pibbow and he confirms his tridents are chrome too on his AC. The paint colour is still up in the air and Pibbow swears that the colour is definitely the Grigio Alfieri on his wheels. He had one resprayed to match the other 3 and it is a perfect match. I am therefore going to have some paint made up in the 203633 and sprayed on to metal to compare to my wheels first, then I will decide. Maybe your wheels are from the 4200, have you checked this out?

The tridents on my centre caps are chrome as well. What made you think mine weren't? Perhaps the crappy quality from the iPhone camera? Sorry for that. The caps are definitely from the AC, check out the part nrs on the Eurospares website. Whether my or Pibbows wheels are currently the original colour? Who can tell for sure? What I can tell is that the brand new centre caps from ES have the original colour, and that is the colour I am after. But I don't mind if you order a bottle as well, the more checks, the better. Perhaps you could order a bottle of Grigio Mercury as well, in order to rule that one out?

Hi Danny, sorry mate the tridents looked black on your photo? Pibbow is certain that his wheels have never been painted since new. On the paint we are just going to have to keep trying and comparing to get the *****d thing right.

This is to finalize my little experiment with Grigio Alfieri (203633). There may still be some uncertainty about the wheel rim colour in which some original AC's were delivered, but in my view "Grigio Alfieri" does not match the colour of the wheelcaps which can be ordered from Maserati / Eurospares with part nr. 189953 and which are sold under this part nummer by Eurospares as the original wheelcaps for the AC. In the meantime, I have ordered a bottle of Grigio Mercury....(sigh)

On the pictures I have applied Grigio Alfieri 203633 on one of my business cards in multiple layers, finished with 2 layers of clear lacquer:

Hi Danny,

If the AC wheels match the colour of those wheelcaps, then they are Grigio Mercury. I have had my wheels painted in Grigio Mercury and they perfectly match the factory wheelcaps.

Guys I have to say sorry did a bit of digging this morning and on my cars Pre delivery inspection list from Meridien it states "11 November 2001, Refurbish all alloy wheels due to damage in transit"

I'll be getting my center caps air brushed to match the wheels as I love the colour and they have been like that since delivery to the first owner. Meridien made a mistake that I for one like.

Many thanks for that Peter, I was just about to start pulling out the few hairs I have left with this subject!!
So we appear to be in agreement then, the original AC wheels are GRIGIO MERCURY - TITANIUM finish, there is another thread with the Paint Code wihich I will hunt for and post.

And this confirms that Grigio Mercury (226679) is indeed the correct colour.
