2025 - Fantasy F1

Well that was a good start to the season, lots of action, rain, safety cars, some drama with Piastri, a great hunt by Max in the last few laps and a predictable winner (well at least I predicted it, as well as the fastest lap). I hope the others catch up to McLaren otherwise they will run away with it. There is only so much Max can do and Ferrari is not really there yet, just like Mercedes. the big number of rookies will no doubt cause some spectacle this year.

Hooray for sprint races. Yippee.

Well that was a snooze fest of a race - luckily I had recorded it so half of it was fast forwarded. Just as luckily (for me at least) the Ferraris and Gasly got DQed as otherwise I would have been bottom of the pile - @DLax69 you must be screaming as I think I saw you on top before all the measurements…

That Red Bull must really be a pig to drive. People/ SkyF1 keep on going on about Max’s teammates, but they are looking at it the wrong way. It just shows how good of a Driver Max is, not how bad his teammates are. It’s a dilemma for Red Bull and they obviously would prefer two drivers fighting, but if your car is not fast enough you need to resort to extreme measures to at least have your top driver compete at the front. Max as much hinted that the RB is the faster car at this point Which makes sense as Lawson /Tsunoda were pretty close last year. They should have done more testing with Tsunoda/Lawson in the Red Bull to see who can drive it the best. But it’s evident that McLaren are by far the fastest and If Norris doesn’t get his act together it will be very close between Piastri and him and McLaren will have a headache. Ferrari…I won’t even go there….

Well that was a bit of a disaster for Ferrari and its not like its the first time.

No doubt McLaren is the on form car and with two competitive drivers it will be close all season, some of the other teams seem to be still finding their way but to be honest neither China or Australia are "normal" race circuits so we will see how things develop.

Very little "normal" so far...and @Tallman I agree. Max is wringing every bit that he can out of what's clearly not the best car on the track. I also didn't think Lawson should have gotten that seat, regardless of the car's form...

The one I can't wrap my head around is MB. If Kimi is doing that well from the jump as a very young rookie...

I thought Bearman was the standout rookie in China, some lovely overtaking in the Haas.
I wouldn't imagine the debriefing in Maranello this week will be a ton of fun.
One of the all time great circuits next up and perhaps a better indicator on who is where in the order of things. Hopefully RBR/Ferrari/Merc can get closer to the McLs otherwise it could be over very quickly
