2011 GTS ZF 6HP26 Transmission service @ 65k

Here are some pictures of the service done to the 2011 GTS transmission @ 65,000K ...........I would suggest to all Maserati Granturismo owners to have your Gearbox / Transmission Fluid levels checked. My transmission has zero leaks totally clean . I removed 5.5 Liters and installed 7 Liters of new Lifeguard 6 that's all I had at hand. May need another Liter.

Looks good you done all the sleeves too.
However why add more fluid than removed? Was it low?

I'm assuming the 5.5 liters is quite a bit low.
I was just following the instructions from the link below on how to refill and top up the gearbox... 7 Liters went in and it's still low. Going to install another Liter today,that should give me the steady stream of fluid from the overflow. @ 40*C

Bought 2 more Liters of Lifeguard 6 this morning. Got the car off the ground and up to 55*C. Removed the fill plug and around a 1/4 of a Liter drained out from the gearbox. I'm good with that. Now I'm stuck with 2 liters of Lifeguard 6. Paid $78.55 and the business owner says all sales are final..

My 6th year service is being done next month, when I asked what was included one of the items was gearbox oil change? I was quite surprised.

Not a bad thing mate, I serviced my box 6 months ago, changed a lot like yours, but there will still be oil in there thats old. Run it around for a while and drain out 2 liters and fill with fresh.

Just noticed ''engine oil'' coming from the bell housing. My plan is during winter remove the gearbox and replace the Rear Main Seal.

I was wondering if the diff has to be removed in order to pull the gearbox? I noticed in this picture the diff was removed.
Or does the drive shaft just unbolt from the diff and gearbox?
Any tips on how to remove the ZF6HP26 gearbox ?

Mine is being done right now down at AV. All fluids including gearbox, diff, F1. It’s at 67,000 miles.
