Can't see why the engine oil in a 2007 car lasts 2 years while (apparently) that in a 2006 car lasts only one, given that its the same engine!?!

Could it be that the Duoselect needs more attention or that they just say 2 years to make the cars more competitive to new buyers.

It does sound like a change made by the marketing department; all manufacturers are trying to promote their cars as needing less servicing.

But, the 2006 cars are dry-sump and the 2007 onwards are wet-sump, I don't know if that makes a material difference.

I've decided to keep my present QP and so, the servicing issue once more becomes a factor. I've just checked on the site "Servicemycar" and the cheapest quote for an annual service is from a company called "BHP Motorsport"

Has anyone had any dealings with this company? Specifically with regard to Series V, duo-select QPs. I've had a chat with them on the phone and they sound like a straightforward bunch.

Yes, McGraths are. Very. But, BHP are offering a deal on "Servicemycar" of over £100 off of their usual charge. This brings them in below McGraths. Hence my question.

I am happy to continue using McGrath, they've always gone the extra mile for me and indeed the last time I popped in for a clutch reading and chasing down an A/C issue in the diagnostics they didn't even charge me. I think a relationship like that is worth more than saving a few quid.

You could always put BHP's price to McGraths and see if they will match it, they once matched mytyres.co.uk price for me - and they're low-cost internet traders.

I've done just that. In fact I told them that if they can come close, then I'll stick with them. Claire is going to call me when she's got the figures sorted out. :)

I was passing through Poole yesterday, so decided that some new oil was no bad thing. At vey short notice Emblem performed a basic annual service, giving my QP a good check over, new oil + filter, SD check, clutch read and reset etc. Top lads.

Was it the QP? How much did they charge you?

It was indeed the QP and the bill was a bit under £400.

I had the service history with me, so we could work out exactly what needed doing and what didn't. Which means I didn't have to pay a main dealer to do pointless work - saving me about a further £400 (given than an official annual service is about £800 inc Vat).

its Servicethecar lol - BHP have an excellent setup, they deal with a lot of cars and have (like many) some big name owners. I've known Neil for quite some time, and if you book/use through www.servicethecar.com he'll ensure you get top treatment.
