It's a lovely colour combo and looks like a good example. It'll be interesting to see if it sells at that price. There are other colours without full leather or newer cars with 10k extra miles for £6k less. It'll show if people are prepared to pay 20% more for a good colour and full leather. All the very best with the sale.

Must admit I did think the same DG.

The is no denying she is a stunner, but got a few grand less for mine than that and that was 6 months ago in the spring too, 2006 GS LE and it had 34k on the clock and it was the same spec.

All the best but I think £26k is an realistic and achievable price.

thanks for your comments re the price, maybe I'm off beam with it but based it on specs and prices of cars currently on Pistonheads, all the cars from ADG and Nuvola with similar miles are in the £30k to £34k price range, the nearest to the £26k you'r suggesting is a 54k Miles car at Autofficina

Well, if you can get that for it, the best of luck to you, no harm in trying.

Can I ask, what wax are you using on her, its super shinny?

From my personal experience, you need to undercut a dealer by £3/4k but Autoficcina's cars often tend to be overpriced. There's an 06 with full leather, done 40k, £23490 and a spotless silver one for £22500, non LE, both privately for sale. As I said originally, no direct comparison currently for sale but it'll be interesting to see if people will pay that for the leather and slightly lower miles.

Hi Matt, it's been machine polished to remove swirl marks etc etc ( I was trained by Dave from Sportscar protection) then it has a Carlack nano 68 coating followed by a carnuba wax

Hi Dicky, hopefully somebody will pay the money and of course I'm open to sensible offers :) I'm in no big rush and may give it to Autofficina to sell if it doesn't go privately. It's a strange word that non franchised 'dealers' can charge a significant premium, my experience of dealing with ADG was utterly shocking and their extremely limited warranty is next to worthless so can't really see how they add value

I think a lot of it is simply preying on people's insecurites and they feel safer buying from a dealer. Plenty of private cars for sale often are better than those in the independent dealer network.

Agree with Dicky. I paid over the odds recently for a car from Autofficina, but I did this knowing the clutch usage was low, knowing they would service and MOT it before sale, and knowing that I would get a 12 month warranty.

Rightly or wrongly, when you buy privately you feel it is more of a leap of faith, that you are in 'sold as seen' territory. I bought my 3200 privately and there were no problems, but people do tend to feel more comfortable when buying from a dealership or specialist.

When I was looking for my latest GS this year, I expected to see a 2K difference between private sales and specialist dealership sales and it proved to be more or less accurate. The specialists + dealerships will charge around 2K to sell a private car, so an option would be to hand it over to them and let them ask the higher price and handle the sale. I did this with my copper GranSport through Dick Lovett Cardiff and all parties came out happy. It's an easy way to mark up the car and not have to entertain tyre kickers and test pilots.

Agree about the private bit...Look at the 156 I bought for my wife...All looked fine, drove fine.......Two weeks and a bill for £1500....Leap of faith....
