When I turn off the engine the car beeps 10 times. I note in the handbook if it does it 5 x times it indicates a seat control unit fault - anyone have idea what 10 beeps might be?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the response - That sounds right but I've just started it and selected Neutral before turning it off and it still gives me the 10 beepsI think its the parked in gear warning from memory. You also get additional beeps if its under 2 degrees outside temperature.
Try parking it in neutral with the hand brake on and see how many beeps you get when you turn the engine off.
Obviously put it back in gear to park as normal once you have tested it.

That really is helpful as I couldn't find much in the handbook. I'll have a go at that tomorrow but many thanks again for your helpIn that case try parking on a flat area in neutral and with the handbrake off. Pull the handbrake on and off a few times before you turn it off. It might just be the cold isnt allowing the handbrake to return to the totally off position. You get beeps for that too.
The beeps are used to indicate one of the following but you can get multiple signals strung together.
Selecting reverse 3 beeps
Handbrake on is 13 iirc
Tracker fault 5
Seat memory module or memory button fault they can short in the open position 5 beeps.
Temp below 3 degrees is 4 beep i think.
There are a few others like beeps from starting the car in gear.
If its a new issue try a battery reset and see what happens from there.
Is there a slight pause in the beeps ? It could be 5 plus 5 for example.
Haha, thanks! I do normally leave it in gear so that could indeed be the issue. I’ll check this morning. Appreciate the replyYou get the warnings if you DON’T leave it in gear when you turn the engine off. The book says it must be in gear. The car will automatically select neutral when you restart.

Since I deactivated the Sport function ( turned off Skyhook in my manual car essentially) mine started to beep. Most notably, it appears to be a warning related to seat belts, which it never previously did...
More recently I was treated to periodic beeping which later turned into a fault code which, once cleared, stopped.
It isnt helpful unless you have an encyclopaedic memory for the particular brand of morse code deployed IMO. The opposite in fact. It only garners unease and paranoia...
Keep calm and bury your right foot- it always helps IME!
You were right - when I turned off the car with R or 1st selected, no beeps. To be sure I then did it with the car in Neutral and 10 beeps again so I reckon that's conclusive!
