It looks like I may have sold my Granturismo so I have a spare set of alloys and winter tyres.
I'll probably put the Tridents back on the car and sell the set of Neptunes I bought off Dicky Grace.I'll be looking for £1350 for the alloys (either set) and £650 for the tyres, tyres are Pirelli SottoZeros and still have excellent tread, they've probably done around 1500 miles. The tyres are around £1600 for a new set.If anyone is interested let me know before I stick them on EBay, thanks.

Am sort of interested, but not really sure of the benefit of winter tyres given the limited winter use I envisage for the vehicle. Will give it some thought - cheers...

At the end of the day, if you've got winters fitted your saving your summer tyres, so there is no extra cost involved, I would have barely used the car over the winter if it not been for the winter tyres.Take the tyres with the Tridents and then you can give your car a different look over the winter
I made the mistake of test driving the Porsche Cayman last week, boy what a car, it made me realise that I want something smaller and more focused, the GranTurismo is a great car bit its no sports car.I also drove a Subaru BRZ (same as Toyota GT 86) and was extremely impressed, the quality is way below Porsche standards but it drove 90% as well as the Cayman for less than half the money.I really fancy a new F-Type Coupe next year, so I may be sensible and go with the cheaper option, it will loose next to nothing compared to a new Cayman, decisions, decisions.

One of my managers has a GT 86 and it really impressed me when she took me out on it.....SHe is bringing it to Llandow next week so be interested to see how it goes...

The new Cayman looks really nice......and is a cracking car..

They were virtually brand new when I got them, they still had 8mm left.I've not measured the tread but I will tomorrow, they are still at the garage that swapped them over for me last week.I've done about 1200 miles on them.No damage and no puncture repairs.

Yes, both are excellent cars, I suppose you could say the GT86/BRZ is better due to the fact its half the price. Its probably only the badge snob in me holding me back from buying the BRZ.My last three cars were, Vantage, R8, Granturismo, so its a bit of a step down in that regard, the dealer lent me the car for an hour today, its plenty of fun on the twisties that's for sure.

It's the skinny tyres that help make it fun.....Great for getting the back end out and lots of fun

The Cayman is a very impressive car. I have owned a 987 Boxster S and next time would go for a Cayman, probably an R as it really takes the Cayman to what it should be.

The Maserati is a different beast - 4.9m and 1900kg are never going to handle like a sports car. To my mind the GranTurismo is a really good partner to a small light two seater. A £35k GranTurismo and a £25k Cayman might be a nice way of doing it or a £15k 4200 and a £15k Z4 Coupe (is that what it is called?). Personally I need four seats in my car, largely for the school run. We have a two seater as well and it hardly gets used, makes it a highlight when it does though!

On another matter, I took my winter tyres off yesterday and the handling improvement was very welcome. Winters are essential in northern UK for c4 months of the year for better grip and braking in low temps - not just snow - but now is the time to get back onto sticky summer rubber.

I'm leaving the Neptune's on at the buyers request, so I will be selling the Tridents. The front tyres are on 7mm and the rears 6/6.5.

Result! Enjoy your next car. Must admit if I did not need the rear seats I would be in an R8.

Busy day, I sold the car today as well, I got £7.5k more off this trader than the one who offered £45k, it was more than I expected tbh, and I got back 93% of my money which I think is pretty good considering I bought from a Maserati Dealer.
It's amazing what you can get into a Maserati Bigbob.
Just need to try and decide what to get next, I can certainly see myself in another Maserati one day, especially with all the new models that are being talked about.

Result. Good colour scheme, low miles, right time of year will have helped. Dropping £3k is a result and well worth it for the experience IMHO. Keep in touch and let us know what comes next.

Well I did only have it 6 months AdamN, but I suppose I could have lost 10% as soon as I drove it off the forecourt
(especially with some of the dealers margins) so I'm very happy to have had the pleasure of such a nice car for just a few grand.I think your right Bigbob, the time of year is on my side and the fact the dealer who bought it has very few cars in stock at the moment, so was willing to pay top money for a good car.
The main reason I'm holding back on the Cayman is that I know I'll loose a fortune, selling this slightly used car for very little loss has highlighted the fact even more.
I don't mind spending lots of money on cars, but I like loosing lots of money on cars.
