It would seem like Saxton only ever dealt with Black GSs. Only ever seen 3 advertised by them on PH since 2009. All were black but one was rather unique with black wheels and yellow piping on interior. Looked really classy.

I'm not so sure about their email abilities as I never received a reply to my email query. I sometimes wonder about customer service of businesses when it comes to email, some are better off not giving it out.

Lots don't reply to emails as they think they are time wasters...........Strange..........a contact is a contact and could be a lost sale..

I've had to phone them about 5 times to get service history details out of them. Not a good start but won't be bothering them anymore. Dem, thanks for the offer and it's very good of you to even offer to set foot outside in this weather. It's about minus 15 here. Needless to say I'd always be willing to look at anything up here anyone was considering.

Agree about the interior of the 2nd GS.

I have tried emailing dealers over the years but am not taken seriously. A phone call is much easier and gets clearer answers. I think dealers are scared of writing anything down - litigation ec.

i do think that having it for a year means they are bad at sales or a bad car or both.....

leaving it mught be best as a bad vibe so early looking at a car is not the way to start....

no probs, its near me, let me know if you need anything down here.....

It is surprising though how long Masers can hang around. A year is long but six months is common. They rarely fly out the door - hence the large dealer margins.

True....the car I bought, the guy had it up for sale for 3 mths, not a sniff, dropped £2K off it on a Saturday in his AT advert, I saw it and put a deposit on it on a Monday, got an indie inspection, then got another grand off it.....slow movers at the best of times......money tighter now, plus things slow at this time of the year.

These cars hanging around is a fact of life......Used buyers are still scared of reliability and running costs.....Maserati still has the imagine for some from the 80's 90's..This is very hard to shake....Service cost is just silly on cars of this type.....and I still do not believe they have to be....The manufacturer nows that when bought new its people with a far bit of money that buy these cars and charge then handsomely for the pleasure when it comes to aftercare......Its ********.....

Yes, AndyK....its almost as if they want to punish you for daring to buy one...instead of cherishing the older cars keeping them on the road.

Certainly the lost years of the mid80-to mid 90s were a bit of a horrible time.

But now making cars to be proud of.....why penalise us for keeping them on the road as they were meant to be.

I have a nagging doubt that the GranTurismo will get slaughtered at some time as is the Maserati way once cars have been around a while. I want tpoupgrade an 05 4200GT to a 57 plate GranTurismo 4.2 but if I do it all through a Maserati dealer it will cost me £35-40k to change. That is a lot of money to lose 2.5 years off the age of my car.

Trouble is I am thinking about a change so if I don't upgrade to a GranTurismo in the next six months I will pop out on a whim and buy an RS4, S5 or RS6 as fast Audis are my cars of choice normally. That is with the exception of having owned a 3200GT, 4200GT and two years where I went mad on Beemers - 645i, E92 M3, 550i then a DMS 535d. Wife never liked any of the Beemers FWIW but understands why I love Masers with a passion even though they can be pain in the ar*e at times.

Interesting BB.....though the issues previously associated very strongly with Maseratis of the /80s90s were poor build quality and being reliable...plus very expensive to put right.

Now the GTs are of a different era, one of high build quality, not really heard of too many reliability issues......and finally, sought after......the last one being the most important, whether the car is good bad or indifferent. If lots of people want one, then price stay high even 2nd hand. They stuck stubbornly at 60K for while, not at 50K......who knows what will happen, unless things go poorly in the economy next year and more stressed sales take place...always hard to tell!

Prices are hard to guess. They easily sell at £46-48k retail as the few that come in at that level at independents do sell - there was a black 08 08 28k car in Manchester at £47k which is now off the internet. The Maserati dealer 57 plate cars at £55k seem to be sticking unless they are very low mileage. If the independent dealer cars were at £40k and the Maserati dealer cars at £45k (for a three year old one) then I would be able to convince myself to get in!
