Anyone know the 0-60 time for a 2008 build QP 4.2 GTS?

Seen a figure of 4.6 secs which sounds optimistic, I'm thinking more realistic is 5.4 sec?

4.6 is optimistic.

The lighter 4200 with the same engine is quoted at 4.7 so I think close to 5 secs is realistic.

Just checked wikipedia, 5.1 is actually for the 2009- cars.

It's 5.6 for the 2007-08 QP Sport GT S.

Nice one Andy. I hadn't seen you made such a useful thread.
Looking at the accessories on mine and i really need this luggage set...plus the extinguisher.
I think a couple of the extras are missing( tyre repair kit, fusebox, rescue kit). Not sure if they were added later though.

The facelift QP is such a desirable car..

I always thought the 04 to sept 05 QP was 5.1 to 62mph because it had the lower gear ratios most noticeable in sixth. The final drive (sixth gear mph per 1000 revs) was raised in Sept 05 cars onwards to 25mph per thousand revs to achieve better mpg but the 0 - 100kph (62mph) was the same but quoted at 5.2 in the brochures for some reason. The Sport GT version with the faster gearbox giving less loss of drive during changes managed 0 - 62 in 5.1 but some testers being pedantic quoted a 0 - 60 mph time of 4.95. They were anxious to get it below 5 secs to promote the sportyness of the Sport GT so presumably the conditions chosen and the state of the car prep enabled them to achieve this. Mine has acheived 5.0 secs at Millbrook but only after it had 30,000 miles. When tested at 10,000 miles it achieved 5.2.
The 4.2 GTS recorded a best time by the factory of 5.6 and this was again in very well chosen test conditions with 5 ltrs of fuel. The reason is of course was the ZF full auto box slurring the changes and the weight transfer of the gearbox tacked to the engine giving a tad less traction plus the gear ratios chosen for touring, especially sixth which is much higher giving 28 mph per thousand revs.

Nice to see what these cars were loaded with - not that many options left to add.
I would like the luggage set too, and the tyre compressor.

Intersting to note that all facelift 4.2 QP are slower, so guess the 4.7 was needed rather than optional to maintain perfromance.

Theink I am at the sweet spaot with my Sport GT. Options are just right, privacy glass, heated front seats, both parking sensors and CD player. Only thing I would have added is the photochromatic rear view mirror and red calipers ( nco )

Think I'm with you on that RS48635,
This will be my fifth summer with my QP GT Sport, oh & it has the red calipers.. :)

The F1 clutch set up gives a proper thump in the back when changing up in sport mode..!

Excellent
