I had an integrale Evo 1, always wanted one as I loved everything about them, that is, everything I had ever read about them.
Then I bought one.
Don't get me wrong, it was fun, but in a suicidal way. I've never driven anything apart from a Citroen Visa that felt more likely to kill me at the first hint of an accident, they buckle the roof if they get a very light impact on the nose, this is not a robust motor car!! The difference being the Visa couldn't go fast enough to have an accident, and the 'grale just encouraged you to drive it like you stole it. After a memorable dice with a Lancer Evo VI I thought about my family and sold it. Ownership time was four weeks from memory.
Thinking about it the grale was a bit of a one-trick pony, it wasn't actually very fast in a straight line, but you just didn't have to slow down for corners. Trouble with corners is that thorny issue of what lies around them, exploiting the car's cornering limits is rarely feasible on UK roads, and then you get some snotter Astra stuck up your exhaust pipe because it's faster on the straight bits!!
I'm glad I had it, and more glad I sold it.
