    Potential new Quattroporte owner

I think a good trawl through the internet to find some road tests is in order. Looks to be a very nice one in Kent. My mistake the one in Kent is a facelift but 4.2 so it's back to the one near Southampton which is now advertised as a 4.7 Popped along to this car this morning, nice laid back...

So is the 4.7 significantly better than the 4.2? It would appear there are a number of 4.7 cars for the £40K budget just not sure if I'm prepared to fork out potentially amother £10-15K for the 4.7. It may be a car I will buy and just keep although this will be a first for me.

I am actually working near the Ashbourne site on Monday so may well go and check it out. This always happens to me started off with a £15K budget for a trackday Boxster landed up spending £26K on a little RS60 Boxster complete with carbon ceramic brakes. Although £40K is pushing my budget...

Thank you for your replies, I thought the comfort seat package had ventilated seats which I may have wrongly thought cooled like the Mercedes, I have seen a 63K mile facelift for £30K advertised at a main agent but at the same time a very low mileage older auto is up for sale at the same price...

    Potential new Quattroporte owner

Hi, I registered quite a while ago when I was in the market for a 4200. Things have moved on since and I am about to become my daughters long distance University taxi service. I have been looking at Mercedes Benz CLS63 AMG but noticed that within my budget is the Quattroporte. Having driven...

    Petrol Prices

There was a proper test done some time ago with an engine fixed up to a test rig and it proved beyong doubt that V-power or Optimax as it was then along with the Tesco Premium fuel gave the best results and the BP product further down. As mentioned V-Power/Optimax does have the advantage of...

Yes the car does have the skyhook option, having spent so long looking at the CL AMG which does not have springs my mind for some reason keeps clicking back to the type of system that car has whenever active or adaptive systems are mentioned, I'll will try to crowbar this into my cranium!

    Potential new owner

Thought as much many of the RX7 guys who race and trackday thier RX7's swear by Wheels in Motion so I guess a visit may be in order. I still keep thinking the 4200 has active suspension and must get it out of my head.

I have spent a bit of time going through the various sections in this forum relating to the 4200 (and very useful too) one point I did notice was an advisory on the last MOT about excessive wear on the inside of passenger side front wheel is this a cause for concern?

Thanks for clearing the suspension thing up, thats the good thing about forums there was me thinking the 4200 had a system similar to the CL and in an instant I now know better. Yes safrane after the advice on there I decided it would be unwise not to spend the money on a check, nothing ruins...

Ah for some reason I thought the suspension system was an ABC one like on the CL and was lowered by electronic means

Thanks for the welcome, I've also read somewhere that there is a modification that lowers the car. If all goes well I'll keep it standard until I settle in to it then perhaps look to up the power. Just checked the link thats a proper dyno that doesn't flatter.

    Potential new owner

I'd like to introduce myself as a possible new owner of a 2005 4200 this is depending on the buyers report that will be carried out by Emblem on Wednesday, its metallic black with burgundy/black seat combination. Having just sold my near 400bhp RX7 which I used for the occasional trackday and...
