Morning all,. So my 4200 failed MOT on a rear calliper binding on one side. Whipped it off and its all very free and pistons retract at a gentle push... that said when I jack a rear corner up, and have her in neutral, both sides give quite a bit of resistance to being turned... feels/sounds...

think its covered in a couple of clutch swap articles/videos - but its really only the six bolts if your gonna just lower it in situ. once id faffed about getting clearance from my quickjacks it really was one of the simpler jobs. I just lowered it all on a jack about 6 inches and had loads of...

need to swap the rear brake pipe that runs over the gearbox... so had a go at dropping the rear end a few inches to make life a little simpler when (if ever) the new one rocks up... It seems I'm not the first to drop it... and last time someone got a bit creative on one of the bolts :):):)

doh - I'm a muppet - its under the steering column not the pax side. gave it a wiggle and hazards work again. looks to my like its already been replaced/bodged at least once - has cable tie around it :) will be trying to locate the Alfa 166 unit longer term but given it a clean up and at least...

how you get on? My hazards have also failed the other day - typically while trying to get an MOT... Indicators are fine... I popped the screen unit and connected the grey pin one to the black pin 3 wire to ground it and no hazards. Seems the relay under dash does indicators as well so...

So clutch is back and installed - done about 50 miles of gently gently so far - and so far it’s behaving like a clutch. Pilot bearing bread thing worked a treat :) PIS at 4.7 seems to be giving a decent change for bimbelling about - and once I’ve got some more miles on her will have a proper...

So my clutch and flywheel are off being sorted... in the interests of of good thread I'm going to give the resurface a crack ;) Removal was such a simple task it just seems worth a pop! QuickJack - with the small rubber blocks it lifts to about 45cm. I'm guessing this job is about the worst...

So existing clutch is out! Really wasn’t to bad a job even with the car only being a couple of foot of the floor. Torque tube is fun to remove on one’s lonesome :) I would not advise using your own body on a creeper to “lower it” - especially if your gonna try for children at some point :D
