Finally 4200 owner

Hi All,

Well as of last weekend, I've finally became a Maserati owner. Thanks to Koz on here, I now own a 2005 4200 Facelift with a manual gearbox.

The car is high mileage but seems to have been looked after with plenty of receipts for work and servicing. It came with 12 months MOT, with no advisories.
It appears to be a good honest car that just needs a bit of love. It needs a good mop and wax to bring the sparkle back, the interior needs a thorough clean and feed of the leather and I've already started attacking the sticky plastic trim. (As someone suggested on here, I found Mr Muscle foaming Oven cleaner to work the best)

Looking forward to bringing the car up to scratch and putting some miles on it. Currently it has Larini back boxes fitted which sound awesome but I fear leaving for work before 6:00am, it may upset the neighbor's and wake our kids up, so I may be looking at other options with less volume.

No photos yet as I've been too busy driving and fettling, plus the weather hasn't been great.

Cheers,
Andy.

Congrats on the car, bet it sounds great! Iv got sports cat's and an unsilenced X pipe, and i left for work at 5.30 this morning....
All the work sounds pretty minor, so hopefully wont detract from the driving pleasure. Also worth checking the wheel well in the boot for signs of water ingress, as the seal is not the best.
Hopefully the weather will improve over the next week or so.

Congrats. Think you’ve got quite a rare car there. There’s a guy on her who does a superb job refurbing the sticky buttons.

Thanks chaps.
To be honest, it's only because of this forum that I plucked up the courage to buy one. I spent a long time researching on here and now feel reasonably confident that I can work on it. I may draw the line at a clutch change though, not that it appears to need one.
