Attitudes are going to change, if not already changing. Too much let’s go green, too fast !. Once the situation directly affects their financial situation they will begin to reconsider. Don’t get me wrong, I know we have to look toward the future, and the future of our kids, but let’s do it logically. Right now the present is the major concern, let’s get over that and we can gradually sort out the future. We need to be utilising every possibility on offer which includes fracking, more nuclear plants and fossil fuel, and redevelopment of our offshore facilities. You won’t see the protesters who were glueing themselves to the roads to stop the normal or common garden person getting to work, glueing themselves to the streets to stop Russian armoured vehicles.I suspect that fracking will suddenly become ok in the short term(?)! In the medium term, on shore wind seems like a huge missed opportunity in this country. Here, on the Isle of Wight, we have a very successful wind turbine business yet there isn't a single wind turbine on the Island. Applications have been obstructed and overturned through local Planning. (This is also true for fracking and oil exploration). It's suddenly looking like too much nimbyism hasn't done us any favours(?)!
Just realised, before some one replies, glue is not required just some mud and extremely bad planning seems to work. But hopefully you get my point.Attitudes are going to change, if not already changing. Too much let’s go green, too fast !. You wait when he has to start manning the barricades! My youngest, apparently. When the water runs cold he wakes up and gets out. It's the only explanation.
I've explained the shock he'll have when he gets his own place and starts receiving something called 'bills'.
This is welcome relief, the petrol prices will fall back in about June. Never goes down as quickly as it goes up.Good news and some respite, the UAE are going to pump out more oil and Brent and US crude prices have fallen.
Prices down by .20c today due to tariff relief and due to some local arguments the few stations that hiked their price by .20c yesterday have reduced them by .40c - for a little country Ireland does have a fairly strong social conscience
Unless you get involved in religion and whether there is one country in Ireland or 2.
How things can change - I believe their energy minister has just poo-pooed the ideaGood news and some respite, the UAE are going to pump out more oil and Brent and US crude prices have fallen.
Religion much less of an issue than it use to be but the question of 1 Ireland or 2 still bubbles below the surface

Nothing from Shell Energy yet to tell me that's it's ok, my DD can go back down to only a liver and kidney per month. Not that it made the news, but gas prices plummeted yesterday on the news that the Russians are keeping the taps on.
But that's not as exciting as everyone being told that energy prices are rocketing is it?
