i've noticed a few bits of leather peeling , has anyone else had this issue and how did you fix it.
It's a well known issue. It will be replaced under main dealer warranty if you still have it.
Interesting thread. I'm facing the same issue with some of the leather peeling back from the inside of the driver door card well on my QP. I too am wondering how to fix it?
It’s particularly difficult but speak to Paul Revolve Automotive, probably best to go and show him. He’s in Mickle Trafford.Thought I’d ressurect this thread as it’s the one thing that’s starting to let my car down, the leather has started peeling on 3 of my door cards, particularly in the pockets, plus after the last few days of heat the sides of the centre console too…my car is literally melting and a long time out of warranty. Any recommendations on trimmers that can sort? I’m based near Chester

Had the same in areas. Worse was the rear shelf that needed a replacement so if you have a sun blind use it. It is not leather but a very thin vinyl bonded onto foam. It is very difficult to fix as it tends to roll up on itself and if pulled too hard stretches and tears.Thought I’d ressurect this thread as it’s the one thing that’s starting to let my car down, the leather has started peeling on 3 of my door cards, particularly in the pockets, plus after the last few days of heat the sides of the centre console too…my car is literally melting and a long time out of warranty. Does the forum know of anyone who has taken the plunge and had the vinyl retrimmed with leather? My headlining is sagging, my car is a well kept 4.2GT 2008 with 28k - I have a price to replace with Alcantara of £1.5k which is more than I would like to pay but the job needs to be done. The same trimmer has quoted a further£3.5k to retrim in leather where the vinyl is. Not cheap, but not sure if it would look naff or look good i.e. 612.
It is a tricky one, firstly will it look naff, secondly from a financial perspective it makes no sense, my car is worth maybe £27k. Dale from Prestige (a brilliant guy) looks after it and rates it, hence I think it is worth more than £25k which is where the market would put it. So spending £5k on a £27k car is madness, until I look at the alternatives of adding £60k to it and getting into a 599/612. Both of which will be amazing, but I live in Ascot/Sunningdale, the place is full of speed humps and traffic jams and I love having a proper auto box.Watching this with interest....
TBH, I would be happy with a re-trim in good quality vinyl, if it would be properly wrapped round and not peel or scuff.
Well the bits that peeled on mine weren't and that was the rear shelf, b pillar cover, door pocket, gear surround, central console and dash fuse cover. I call BS. It's vinyl vacuum bonded to foam.I was at the dealer the other day and asked him what was leather and what not as I wanted to treat the leather.
He said that on the QPV (and I presume the GT is the same), apart from the obvious leather bits the other parts of the door cards and the dash and all similar trim pieces are all leather as well, but thin/split leather, so it still needs to be maintained as leather. That’s a lot of leather, even if split…
