I had the Bailiffs once, well, Sheriffs, this was Scotland, lowest point in my life. 2001. I literally had no money, no job, five kids, wife gone, Dad died, nearest I came to ending it. Kids kept me going though, made me step up as a father which is maybe now twenty years later I cant get rid of them!

The biggest grandest Kudos of all mate , from one who went through similar I bow to thee mate

i know how you feel about the principal of the matter and if it were a larger sum then fair enough, just grit your teeth and pay the tossers, not worth all the stress over a mere 15 squid
As above, It’s just not worth the potential trouble and your valuable time involved to save 15 quid. I agree that It’s wrong that they should get away with it, but just write it off.

Never pay, £15 or 15 pence. These kind of companies need to be taught a lesson. I have won twice recently against big companies, (one a car park company and the other a council in London). They put me through hoops and I had to use onbudsman in both cases but won both. They both refused to back down until onbudsman stepped in.

It's actually £15.33 they want!
It's obviously not about the money ,but rather the principle ,and I get that , maybe get in contact with the debt collector and ask for a visit and tell them you will give them ,£50 to make it go away on proviso that the cell company doesn't get their £15.33 ,worth a crack

I would just pay it, lifes too short.
I once had a utility company sent me a bill for £0.00 and i smiled and ignored it. I got reminders and all sorts which I could not understand. Then lawyers letters demanding the £0.00. I called and said " are you mental?". And apperantly they were, because it was in their system they made me send a checque made out to £0.00 so they could remove it from the computer system. (Probably SAP :) ) Pay it and move on, not worth it.

Pay me the £50, I’ll pass on the £15.33.
Win win.

Oddly enough the agency just called me - I gave them the story and they are referring it back to Three. Currently on 'indefinite hold'...

The thing with these debt collection agencies is their fees.

Once they've tracked you down. They will issue a CCJ (or try), this costs 30 quid or something. Plus costs.

So in a flash, should the CCJ be granted, your £15.33 has turned into an enforceable debt of circa £250.

Then if they send bailiffs then that's another 300 quid+.

So for £15.33 you nor are looking at a debt of well over £500. Are your principles worth that much for so little?

Just pay it. In instalments. Of a pound a month. And send a cheque. Through the post. Without a stamp on it.
