I never liked them when they first came out mainly due to the footballers issues

Yeah, that was definitely a thing. It's surely not as pretty as the Maser was. And from some angles quite lardy. But you can't see it from inside ;)

Congratulations Chris, lot of car for the money.

A scary amount of car, frankly. I just can't believe how good a deal I seem to have got!

Agreed it is a big lumpy car but I think it is very well proportioned so disguises it's mass.pretty well. It looks muscular for sure but in a good way.

My sister's ex finance in South Wales bought one for his dad for his 60th birthday and remember him taking me out for a spin down some local tight country roads. The sense of power and engineering was immense. Very different feeling to so many cars. It felt big tough and heavy but still seemed to lick along at a relentless great pace still able to brake and turn really well. A cracking piece of engineering.

How they packaged all this in that engine bay is masterful. However it does make it tight/tricky and labour intensive to work on....as Tavarish has found out! However if nothing or little goes wrong then what a bargain.

We have one of our university facilities in Leighton Hospital in Crewe and whenever I go there I always take a sneaky detour past the Bentley factory and showroom and press my greasy admiring nose up against the glass before some Gorilla in a suit comes and politely asks me to 'fcuk off' so he can re-polish the glass!!......Well done again Chris, it looks Ab Fab!!......Stu

That is rather lovely, inside and out C.

You have been waiting a while now, so fingers crossed its a fully joyous experience.

It does. Interestingly there's a place in Colchester that has worked how to do nearly everything without taking the engine out. They will probably be my first port of call.
And fixed price servicing (as do Bentley) at £800 for a major.

Great find. That could be a wallet saver.

I remember doing a job on a sensor on my E39 540i that BMW menu job details says 6.5 hours and all intake system off. I did it in 60 mins leaving everything in place with some clever small tools, some patience, some mirrors, some dexterity, laying on the engine with my head in the scuttle....oh and a few grazed knuckles and lots of blue words!

I'm sure there is many things main dealers say they do and then do the shortcut and pocket the change.

If you took it as a trade sale the dealer is probably typing the same somewhere :D

Does it say sold a scrap or something on the invoice or have you left a back door open

The interior of my old 147 was less plasticy, they seem a bit naff inside.
I'm not that interested in the inside , I'd say they're the most bonkers semi affordable saloon you can buy
I like the German performance cars but can't get away from the 320D with an M badge on it , there's just too many of them about to be special

I've only ever seen a couple of the quadrifoglio
on the road but they really do it for me , obviously once you start going up the price range into Aston ferrari & Bentley the interiors improve but they're 3-4× the price

The AC system is a bit weird and many will not touch the e parking brake it is also a bit specialist!
One thing about Bentley - their dealer 'health check' is comprehensive.
I was warned that the cigar lighter was ejecting at the wrong temperature and that the glove compartment door was opening too fast - new damper required?

But I did get a tin of Bentley branded mints and bottle of water - so all good!

Really? The 6 Speed forums is full of helpful advice about how to disengage the EPB. Seems very simple indeed!

My AC control has been replaced with a Ben-HUR so I have a full Kenwood touch screen DAB / SatNav / DVD player system. More complex than the bloody car!

When I was looking there wasn't so much help in forums, mostly the feedback I got wasn't that people couldn't deal with the EPB but they wouldn't - just in case.

I see Larini do some nice shiny exhausts too. Plenty of scope for browsing useful mods!

Yeah, it's a very odd name. Just worked out: Bentley-Head Unit Replacement.....

I thought it was an autocorrect error! I guess if it wasn’t for the Romans they’d be speaking Welsh, although half our staff in Crewe are Scousers so I can’t understand them anyway.
