I'd be pretty surprised if Branson and/or his accountants could work out what tax he actually pays let alone HMRC working it out. I agree and bet you a dollar it won't be 45p in the £1 though. Not if he has decent or clever accountants.
Decent, clever , I would add dodgy to that, let's be honest the loopholes available encourage it, it will always be that way because those making the rules are in amongst it!

Football pitches were aways variable to combat teams playing with wingers. I remember going to Notts County in the 90's and they deliberately narrowed the pitch to force Giggs and Kanchelskis to play narrower. You could tell because the linesmen create a wear patch and County's groundsman had painted the touchline 3 yards inside of this.
Allardyce did this at The Reebok, they also did the same at Burnden Park in 1946 but that was because they had to put the bodies somewhere after the Railway Embankment End crush...

Just had to read up on that, “they remarked the line with sawdust”. Guess it was a different world in 1946.

Proper football ground that, where if you were from the right side o th' hill, you'd **** yersen going there back int day
Started 1974 ish Great Lever end, right side. Then Burnden Paddock, slight right of half way line, against the wooden boards for the stand (seats) behind us. Loved it. If you were on the back in the Paddock you'd made it. Back-kicking the wooden boards above in unison for extra noise....

And this Allardyce goal, we recreated every evening on the local pitches, ie car parks. 42,000 on - Division Two....

This ol fart never got into it in the first place ,dont do facebook , twitter ,or intsagram, and i have taken 4 years to get to a mediocre grip with whatsapp ( working abroad is a life saver ) havent bought a newspaper in over 10 years and watch minimal tele , the whole Andy Warhol 15 minutes of fame thing is a misnoma that caught up the younger generation of millenials ...........let them find out on their own its all smoke and mirrors and 99% talentless , in 30 years time they will have no Keith Richards, Bowie, Bob Dylan to reflect on like the majority here . Listening to the media here continually and deliberately trying to trip up well intentioned governmental people seems to be the typical journalists trait of today as if thats good journalism which can attain them some acclaim from there very own media awards is wholey laughable in itself but has become the norm, , as if standing in wellies on bognor seafront at the height of a winter gale getting drenched is heroic and daring LOL and worth a stainless steel plaque ..............I feel like going back to Africa where it quite hasnt caught on there yet.....but im sure it will in time.......................rant over ...................lets read between the lines guys , its in the small print not the headlines

Well I agree on the first stuff you mention. I've never seen an episode of X factor. I'm not on Facebook, or twitter or Instagram and never have been. I don't use Amazon or Uber or Gmail, don't even use Google for searches any more.
Where we diverge is: I devour quality journalism. A decent newspaper is still the best way to get your media. TV news I can't watch and don't get me started on unaccountable Internet lunacy. As for media questioning government: I want them speaking truth to power, and giving them a hard time. They lie more than ever. It's necessary

Facts? It's been stated by Hancock that people were indeed sunbathing in some of London's parks. It has also been proven now that the Scottish Minister has now also admitted travelling to her second home unnecessarily.

That was my fault, I half heard something and posted it before I checked

When people will start taking it seriously I'm not sure , some tit has been hitting 90+ in a 40 this afternoon on a bike while the people that might have to treat him if he falls off are dying

Much as I'm not a fan.... At all.... But as a fan of another famous old northern club, who also went through a long period of struggle with finances in recent times (though we still play in a proper ground :p)
... I hope they survive m8

Just watched Her Maj on the telly box and she referred to her first broadcast with her sister in 1940. It got me thinking, has anybody had a longer broadcasting career? 80 years!

Boris gravely ill now in hospital with breathing difficulties...

Really? Source (not disputing just asking cos)
He was taken to a London hospital on Sunday evening with "persistent symptoms" - including a temperature.
It is said to be a "precautionary step" taken on the advice of his doctor.

They should be commandeered like wartime for free .........................its national necessity

Not sure I see why it should be free, just because it is particularly needed. Surely a reasonable rent is fairer?

No one goes to hospital as a precautionary step these days.
