They all are. The OP should know it’s stupid to get a Maserati and hope it holds its value and won’t cost money. It won’t hold its value and it will cost money. More money than other more sensible cars. But it will be fun and it’s worth it for petrol heads

Perhaps the correct line would have been... do not buy a Maserati expecting not to do maintenance and then sell it before you have to pay any bills for said maintenance or servicing

Owners like that are the reason why there are so many poor cars on the market

For least depreciation I'd be buying the silver/blue GS that's for sale on the forum at circa £21k. You can't loose much on that car over a year or two period, and it's up together mechanically, so it shouldn't cost you much there either.

But as an overall ownership experience, personally I'd take a 4.7 GT MC-Shift over the GS, especially if I wanted to do 5000 miles per year. The GT is more comfortable, more practical, better looking and sounds better (IMHO). But you'll need to use all your budget to get a decent one.

That must have been unusual -operating in a budget Ewan! Seriously tho, would U suggest buying a Maserati on such OP terms?

Firstly you’re not my mate.
Just because I don’t agree with your viewpoint doesn’t mean I’m any less worthy of opinion than you

Viewpoint on what?? I really hope you are not talking about brexit as I was actually calling out your poor conduct on this thread

You seem be pretty quick to draw conclusions about people you do not know

Talking of conduct... out of respect to the OP I am withdrawing myself from this topic

Listen 50, if I was talking Brexit I’d have lost your knowledge months ago.
My poor conduct?
I expressed an opinion on a product....and a proposition on this thread.
Don’t buy a Maserati. On budget..basically.

You said “do not buy a Maserati expecting not to do maintenance and then sell it before you have to pay any bills for said maintenance or servicing”

Wtf?
“Talking of conduct... out of respect to the OP I am withdrawing myself from this topic”
So basically don’t buy a Maserati as an investment,

buy it for the pleasure

I bought my QP knowing in 3 to 5 years it will be a banger, I don't skimp on it all, new filers, synthetic oil ever 5k, but I don't pay MD prices, local trusted guy for servicing, tyres from Internet, Indy for SD3 bits, Maser-specific parts from Ebay, Europarts etc...

Or, in 3-5 years it might be a new classic in which case bonus!

It's my DD purely because I like to be different and believe cars are to be driven, and that's it.

To get back to topic.
Here is a challenge:
Try the best GTS QP available : version 5 or 6.
Then come over and try mine. It's not a GTs us an old QP which has done 80k+ miles.
But it's a good one.
For sale here: https://www.sportsmaserati.com/index.php?threads/my-04-mas-for-sale-£12-5k-negotiable.28400/

Then compare which one gives you more smiles per mile?

Of course mine is at the bottom of its depreciation curve. So losing money is only going to be on maintaining the QP.

I would definitely wait post brexit then fully begin your search, I have a lot of dealings with the trade and big v8 (also v10, v12) aren't shifting quickly at the moment.

Then again, I just bought a Supercharged R8 yesterday, maybe ignore me!

It's a lottery, they could suddenly become more expensive, who knows. If you want one buy one and enjoy it, lifes too short.

Thanks for all the feedback particularly to those that tried to help with my question. Others here seem to be getting upset as to why I would even dare ask about the lowest depreciating model for my money, and then have psycho-analysed my post making the leap that therefore I would be the type of buyer that they don't feel should be allowed to buy a Maserati. Amazing quite frankly ! I had said that I wanted a "good one" and not a "cheap one", and it was not even a very long post that I made, so not sure how some of you got to the conclusions that I wouldn't be a good custodian for a Maserati. Some type of Syndrome perhaps.

Thanks again to those that are helping with their knowledge.
