I'm finding more and more shop staff saying "have a nice day" after paying for something these days, especially the younger generation, just like the American "yoll have a nice day now"
"Can I get"
No, you cant. F*ck off.
My daughter, like, says 'like', as like every second, like, word.
And she goes to private school. There's no hope.
I actually like that phrase, it makes me laugh. It came from the MotoGP days when they were 2-stroke 500cc when the Americans dominated the series in the 80's.Winningest. WHAT THE ACTUAL F*CK?
Having won the most. Use the Queens English!
Incorrect. The first noted sporting use was a NASCAR referance a decade earlier. Typically used nowadays in reference to a team coach but has been part of US lingo for "donkey's years". How ever many that may be.It came from the MotoGP days
For me it came from 500s, as you couldn't get NASCAR on eurosport...Toby Moody used to say it tongue in cheek.Incorrect. The first noted sporting use was a NASCAR referance a decade earlier. My 10yo son does it with copious overuse of like and basically! Glad to see my money is being well spent on his education! He is a very bright kid but I can't stand this new age speak. The upward intonation in sentences winds me up, as if every statement is a question!
