Thoughts on wrapping?....

what's everyone's thoughts on this ?
I've been looking around at the various options available if i was to consider buying a Granturismo, budget will be tight, and large bills shortly after buying would scare me a fair bit, especially as i'd need it as a daily driver as well.

One thing i have noticed, is a couple of cars that are "wrapped" for example, but not limited to this one... http://www.blue-ribboncars.co.uk/used-cars/maserati-granturismo-4-2-2dr-bolton-201705245780533

Just curious on everyones take on this, to me personally, it should reduce the value, i can almost see the point if your looking for a matt finish, or a high pearlescent mixed colour finish...... other than that, it screams chav to me! and something i would expect on a lower marque of car

Personally I think it's rather nasty. Not overly cheap either.

In the US they love wraps. No one thinks twice If you're looking for a rare car and want a specific colour scheme, it might be worth it. Over here I'd want to know what's underneath. But I can't see any circumstances where I'd ever buy a wrapped car *especially* not that one ;)

lol, my thoughts exactly..... what's it hiding!

if you were after a specific or exotic colour then i can almost understand it, and yes, not cheap to do, but if done wrong can look cheap.

don't like that one huh !! (i do like the tinted rear lights, i think that can change the whole appearance back there)

As above wrapping worries me as to what its hiding, also I can't believe it doesn't damage the paint below over time

Don't like the lights. Don't like the wheels. Don't particularly like the wrap.

Other than that it's all good :)

hahaha, i think the lights have to be matched to the right coloured car to look right, here's another with tinted lights that caught my eye as nice, and with the privacy rear glass seem to fit right in.

you just know i had to google that right... :shh: :saifi4:

You're going to fit right into the Maserati owning madness :D

I actually rather like the silver on silver, but the rear tinting cuts the car in half at the b-pillar and makes it looks shorter and blockier than the glorious flow of lines that the designers intended ;)

Buy a decent well priced one and spend 20 pounds tinting them. I have never seen an interior / exterior combo as bad as that what is with the wheels and the blue accented matts?

i never actually looked close at the specifics of that particular vehicle, but yeah, that's an odd combination, black leather, red stitching, but matts are blue edged not 100% sure on the other interior trim selection, but it's not a great combination, i wonder what colour it is under the wrap, the wheels i'd assume either needed refurbishing, or they wanted them to fit in with the contrasting black and white theme, they will of course stay white for all of about 5 miles lol

I'm not averse to the principle of wrapping, having said that I would only buy an already wrapped example if a very detailed photo dossier of the paintwork pre wrapping was provided, but I wouldn't hesitate to have it done myself if I could only find a car with the correct spec, but wrong colour. As to the one in the link, hate it, and those wheels look sh***.
