Look what Jaguar gave me as a loan car.

That's a result Andy. I do quite like the look of them but there are far too many around.

Just need a competitor from Maserati or, dare I say it, Alfa Romeo.

I think that is a lovely, lovely car Andy and one that has caught my eye. It looks far better than the convertible IMHO.

Maserati really do need to pull there finger out or we will all be tempted down the www.sportsjaguar.com route.

I followed one from Manchester to Oxford on Saturday (white one, aren't most, it's the in "trendy" colour but boring AF in this car) and he was determined not to let me past and stuck to 100 Lepton, I fail to understand that anyone would drive that distance at an average of that unless they were a) in a real hurry or b) loaded AF! :D

That's cool Andy, I really like it and I bet the back up and servicing would be far better than Maserati.

This particular 400 edition Matt just stood out from all the others and in black which I wouldn't normally go for looked perfect. If was plenty fast enough and such an addictive sound and turned heads everywhere I went. Mighty impressed. Really want a V8 Vantage but this F Type has made me think again. Woukd imagine the 5 litre V8 is a monster but the 400 sport I had is probably better balanced. Mine was AWD but think I would have the rear wheel drive 400 if I had the money that is. It's a lovely thing.

I am very, very impressed with with the service and the network. The dealership in Swindon a very welcoming place and everyone makes you feel special and important no matter what you drive. They didn't have to give me the F Type as I work in Swindon and they were going to just give me a lift back to work as all the loan cars were out...I was fine with that but one of the chaps just said how about an F type instead...coupe or convertible.....impressed indeed....A lot cheaper to run as well I would imagine......

Great looking car and Dealer Service too.
How much did the first service cost Andy if you don't mind me asking ?

There like old Ford Cortina's around Coventry, there everywhere...all talk and no trousers'..

Apparently you get blacked out windows all round as standard so no one can see you and take the p'ss!

Cheers Andy was just wondering for comparison.

If you have the service plan it's £475 for 5 years and 50k which is good value. Think an interim service is around £190ish. The diesel that I have needs a service every 21kish.....

Didn't feel like all talk and no trousers with 400bhp and 0.60 in 4.8 and a top speed of 178....Quicker than a 4.2 GT and pretty close to the GTS but with better handling. Everywhere around Coventry but certainly not all talk and no trousers....Well the 400 Sport isn't but couldn't speak for the entry 340 bhp one.

I think that looks the nuts Andy, frankly. I keep looking at them (confession time), but the show-off in me really likes having something a bit rarer, something which really feels special just because it's amongst fewer same-make cars. It's a personal weakness. Still, I could easily see a time when I had a V8 F-type (even if the V6 is better!).

Agree with you Maserati GTS is rare and exotic and very special indeed. F Type is more and everyday companion. The V8 must be ballistic as the V6 was no slouch....The V8 R was exspensive new at 90k plus but they are around 50k used now with around 20k on the clock.....better value that...Not that I have been scouring the classifieds over the 24 hours...

I love the look. I love the way the bonnet opens as well.

Not sure I totally am in agreement with myself about the fake exhaust noise.

But I guess it is fine. Haven't driven one though. Though a secondhand one looks good value.

I could never see myself in a Jag before this and and the XE came out. I really think Jag are making all the right moves for it to be a brand sought after by the younger generation rather than being a grandpas car with a pipe and slippers.
