Good review. How did he get 20,000 miles out of the rears though? I got a little over 10,000.
Interestingly I get similar mph out of the S on a run. Less around town though. I do get less the more I engage sport mode.

Sport mode in my S saw consumption drop significantly. Can't imagine the standard petrol would be different. I struggled to average much more than 16mpg if sport mode used regularly. And I averaged better than that in a GTS!
*phew* someone with a heavier foot than me. I've only managed to get it lower than 20 when driving up and down mountain passes
??? Is it broken? I only average about 26 in my diesel!!

Bloody **** that is surprise. 16 !!!! You expect more from a car in that sector....A good advert just to get a GT instead.
LPG it!
This guy http://www.go-lpg.co.uk/ does a lot of high end stuff, he's in the Stag Owners Club too (with me having a Stag) and has done it for years.
If I was doing the miles would not hesitate would pay for itself in a year!....especially in a QP or Ghibli once out of warranty.

That's a very good write up from a proper owner....Certainly makes you think the petrol is the one to have. Thanks for posting.
Drove my mates Ghibli V6 petrol at the weekend (not the S). What a great interior, the new infotainment screen is very nice and it just seemed like a nice cabin to be sat in. Lack of paddles is frustrating though, can't understand why Maserati didn't make them standard in what is supposed to be a sports saloon. The drive itself, well, I can only describe it as 'meh'...seemed sluggish and needs to be revved to get it moving. Kickdown took forever, which made overtaking a chore. Exhaust sounded nice for an exec saloon but I did expect a meatier growl but then again, I've been spoiled with the Larinis on my GS. Wallowed in the corners, expected it to be a lot tighter. Would be interested to see what the S drove like. Having driven the diesel as well, I can see why a lot of people say that the diesel is the one to go for.
