I've enjoyed them all so far, very glossy and all for a car they've apparently stopped building twice... (or were shortly to cease production)

The face lift GT looks pretty stunning in the films as well....Shame it's going soon as it still looks great and the refresh really brings it up to dats a dare I say makes the original look a little old...suppose it is now...Still look great though.

Here's a thought, maybe Maserati read these posts.....

For 55 years now, Porsche has been making the 911. Every few years, they facelift it and add some new tech, a little more power etc.

The Granturismo is so good looking that I suggest that Maserati consider facelifting it every few years a la Porsche. Let's start with dropping the 527bhp 3.8 v8 twin-turbo found in the current QP GTS and marrying it to the gearbox from the California/Portofino. A couple of new colours, some nice stitching and BANG, you have a desirable headline car again for minimal development costs. Rather than spending money on marketing videos for a car that's now underpowered in the market, spend it on giving it the oooomph to compete.

Just a crazy thought from a crazy Stradale owner that's trying hard to not leave the brand behind....

Yep agreed, I'd buy a new one in a year or two as long as they tech refresh it and make it as quick as a Cali or Portofino. Let's put the passion back in the brand ! Please Maserati!!!!!

Again, agree, the GranTurismo should continue and so we are being let to believe that is happening.

It needs more modern tech, bit lighter and sharper with another 100hp. The current GT is not bad considering it size but times move on and so should the GT.

Then the Alfieri as a 2+2 4200 in size, again, we are led to believe this is happening too.

^^^^ MASERATI if you are reading this DO WHAT HE SAYS! The GT is a timeless design. A fresh engine (and even box) from the existing F production line, and new interior and you'll get another 10 years of joy from owners who may catch on that they are getting into a Ferrari for half the cost.

A switch to the California engine will mean turbos and a noise not befitting of a Maserati. And, anyway, for me it has enough power and pace for a Maserati GT car. An improved gearbox would be welcome though...........

Where I agree that they have enough power, the market demands more from a brand like maserati. The power output of an M5 or E63 put them to shame. Like it or not, the majority are sold on a race to increase these numbers and having a headline car with "only" 460bhp is weedy at best. Why oh why is that engine on the QP GTS only? I've heard one, by the way, and it sounds great. You can make a turbo car sound good provided there is a v8 on there somewhere and some clever exhaust design.

Agree outrun....it's not that the GT is powerful enough but it's about the competition and selling cars and what people expect from a car like this.....500 bhp plus is what people expect from the 100k cars these days.....

So it's all about willy waving? My car has more bhp than yours and is faster 0-60, irrespective of whether it makes any difference to real world road performance.......

No that's what mid engined Italian cars are for...and increasingly McLaren. Let's face it the 540C is plenty fast enough but it doesn't stop people wanting more!

Agree about the n/a engine, one of the greats and will be remembered long after it is gone.

I enjoyed the one with Johnny Herbert

Agree that it seems like a lot of promotion for a car that is about to be discontinued

You all talk about V8's and or twin turbos being fitted as an update to it and how the car needs more power to be relevant in the market... not that im saying it won't happen but it is more likely that we will see some sort of V6/V8 hybrid drive from Maserati as they pan to "electrify" their range buy 2020-2022.

Perhaps they will do a high end petrol only model for the Middle East, China and Africa (which they will also sell in Europe) similar to what lexus have done with their halo grand tourer... but it is highly probable that we will see a hybrid option for the GT and potentially an all electric new vehicle called Alfieri...

My God there is no car sounding as good as the GT out there!

I totally agree, I drive may car to and from work and even on the shittest day I open up the sport exhaust and move the gear stick to auto and hey presto the day ain't so bad!

Exactly, that's why I find it hard to replace mine. As the Italian chef says in the video "you buy the car for the sound alone" and that's the same for me. A car could look a million dollars but if it is electric or sounds pants then it's not for me. The first thing I have ever done to my cars is an exhaust mod to enhance the engine note.
