Wraps, I just don't get why

Chameleon paint is an absolute nightmare and fortune to spray whereas film is cheaper, simpler and pieces can be replaced if damaged where paint would need virtually a whole repaint to match in.

I think they have their place in the custom car world and I’ve seen some really nice colours that would cost a fortune to paint. However I would never buy a car that was wrapped.

I agree with the "anti" stance...might as well just get some advertisements on there, make it look like a meat wagon.

As a concours judge, I am definitely not into the chameleon paint effect, nor into matte paints or the wraps that copy them.
It may be technically difficult to paint but that doesn't mean it looks any good. Why waste time and effort on ugly eg. the TVR posted.
It reminds me of syncopation in music. Went to an Australian Chamber Orchestra performance many years ago, where the music was technically very difficult to perform, but sounded God - awful. I applauded loudly when that particular piece was over, not to thank the orchestra but the fact it was finished.
I just don't get wraps.

Said it before: Wagner's music is better than it sounds. And wraps are not a net plus, in my mind.

WHY?!?
Different Generations I'm guessing.
Back in the 70's people were jacking up the rear end of the Cars and putting big wheels on the back along with Starsky and Hutch stripes or pretending they were in the Dukes of Hazard.
There's a connection here and I blame it on the Yanks ;)

I've always said it 'Originality sells'. We always want a well looked after car. Any modification that can be reversed easily without detriment, is ok in my book. (Including modifications that improve , big brakes mods, sports cats, braided hoses etc)

Taste is personal but sometimes extravagance is very distasteful.
