That's definitely not the only way it works. You have an electrical issue!!

I will check it again when it rains. I've only had to use it twice. First time just the rear screen was misted up pressed the rear screen demist button which lit up but had no clearing effect after 15 mins. The second time the front was misted up as well so turned the air con to max demist on the front screen which turns on the rear demist on automatically and It was worked fine and I could see it clearing from the wire lines outwards. Hopefully it was just having a tea break and will work as it should next time.

You can test it now.
Power it on, wait 5m then put your hand on the glass on the interior side.

It should be noticeably warm

I did think about asking Mrs SP to assist in steaming up the windows but your way is much easier Jorge ;)

Mine has reached 157 775 km last sunday, with engine being 116 775 km ! Turbos are 47 000 km old.

3200 GT with some CEL, but nothing for the last 4 000km. I just need to have the oil pressure and end float measured, otherwise it is okay.
First drive on heavy rain, with Marangoni tyres at their end of life...OMG.... I slipped on 1st, 2, 3, 4th below 2000 rpm !!!!

That's the reason why the 4200 have heated screens, keep the owners hands warm when they are pushing them to the nearest garage cos of oil pump failure or hydro locking !

But at least a 4200 would have been moving under its own power to experience either of these!

The reason its called a 4200 and not a 3200 is its 1000 times better ! ;)

You'll be pleased to hear I've tested the rear window demist again and it worked fine on its own and with the front demist function. It must have been having an off day..

Or possibly 1.3 times better?

Hydro locking could happen to any motor vehicle other than the electric ones.
I bet there are only a handful of failed oil/water pump units to be fair Phil.

Seems to have been a long time since hydrolocking was reported as well
